ABOUT LSD ATHLETICS

Mission: At Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD), athletics are an important part of the educational experience for our deaf and hard of hearing students. We are strongly committed to promoting academic and athletic success of our student-athletes in a bilingual-bicultural program.

To support the overall educational experience of our Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, the Athletics Department is determined to cultivate personal development individually and as a team and to create a respectful environment that celebrates equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Vision: To provide Deaf and hard-of-hearing student-athletes with opportunities to succeed academically and promote socioemotional well-being by participating in athletics. The athletics department is dedicated to developing athletic abilities, building strong relationships, building character, maintaining wellness (physical, emotional, mental, and social health), and fostering a sense of pride in the community/school.
